The Brief
dosh is a passion project - started because of my experiences working with mortgage brokers and applying for a home loan.
The business consisted of a mobile app for consumers and a web platform for brokers and advisors. The principal purpose of the platform was for consumers to efficiently share their financial data with their trusted advisor. The name ‘dosh’ being a slang term for cash – representing the core data being shared.
The Solution
Initially, the name ‘diñeiro’ was chosen (which ultimately became the parent company). The tilde in the logo represented the financial term meaning ‘approximate value’ while the name itself was a slag term for money. The old spelling of the name confused customers and made it hard to find the product, so it was decided to use a term more familiar with Australian customers.
The logo typeface was chosen to represent the ‘well rounded’ nature of financial advice – using a modern typeface to represent the cutting-edge nature of the platform. A simple underline was added to represent the line used to denote a ‘total’ in financial documentation.
